Works with families of origin to prevent the crises that cause their separation and offer a family-like welcome for children who lack adequate care. It is present in 136 countries and territories, where it helps over 1 million people including girls, boys and their families. In Italy it promotes the rights of more than 44,000 children and young people and takes care of over 1,000 people, including children, young people and families who are experiencing serious hardship. It does so through 6 SOS Villages - in Trento, Ostuni (Brindisi), Vicenza, Rome, Saronno (Varese), Mantua - an intercultural family fostering program in Turin and a psycho-social support program for foreigners not accompanied in Calabria.
