Piedmont is one of the Italian regions that has been mostly affected by the health crisis, having a very large number of people infected with coronavirus. In addition to hospitals, many voluntary associations are involved in the daily battle against this emergency. As rescuers are the first to come into contact with COVID-19 patients to assist them or transport them to hospital facilities, they are also often the first to fall victim to the infection, putting their own lives at risk. The Green Cross of Rivoli and the branch section of the municipality of Rosta (two municipalities in the Piedmontese capital) affiliated with the 118 emergency medical system and supported by over 250 volunteers, have been operating in the Piedmont area since 1996 both with basic half-aid stations that with advanced 24-hour emergency stations. Since the beginning of the coronavirus emergency, they are also affiliated for all patient transports that are discharged from the Turin hospital and, not yet negative to the virus, sent home in solitary house confinement.Their primary need is to purchase specific machinery in order to speed up the sanitization of their ambulances, thus making them available to the population in the shortest possible time between one intervention and another. With your donation, you will help this courageous association to cope with the ongoing health emergency, helping to save the lives not only of the sick, but also of the rescuers.
